"Fat people are ugly,"
Says the boy on the bus,
"No offense to you."
The girl on the bus,
Nods her head, and smiles.
Kids can be so cruel.
"Why don't you eat an orange?"
Says her mother,
"It does wonders for the skin."
"Why don't you put on a dress?"
Asks her father,
"I hate that thing you're in."
"Pay attention in class,"
Says a teacher,
"I don't want you falling asleep."
"You're off the team,"
Warns the track coach,
"You've got those grades to keep."
"You're out of my life,"
Says the boyfriend,
"You make me too damn mad."
And the girl walks around,
Day after day saying,
"I guess life's not that bad."
