Who is Shawn M. J. Mann?
(My wife Jodi and I) I am the founder and webmaster of www.quillspirit.com. I am a poet born in the month of blossoming flowers, (April 5th) 1979, in Colorado Springs., Colorado; and I am the 3rd Great-grandson of Dr. Madison Brantley Morris- Northwest pioneer doctor of 1853 (He made SIX trips along the Oregon trial!!!) I am permanent resident of Oregon. I love the beach, rivers, and forests here. I enjoy reading Stephen King, and am a loyal SKEMER. I am married to a wonderful woman named Jodi, and we are expecting the birth of our first child in November 2004. I have a hereditary, progressive nerve disease that affects one in two hundred and fifty thousand Americans. It is called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. (Named after the three doctors who simultaneously discovered it in the mid-1800's; it has nothing to do with teeth.); also known as CMT. For more info, visit www.cmtnews.com As I said, I am researching my family tree... so far in my genealogy study, I have traced lines to Dr. Madison Bradley Morris, son of Lemuel and Martha Morris- born in Tennessee (Henry Co.)- who migrated to Oregon and the Walla Walla Valley and spawned just a whole durn bunch of us to help populate the beautiful Pacific Northwest. He was traditionally known as a direct descendant of the Patriot/financier of the American Revolution, Robert Morris (b. 1734 in Liverpool England, d. 1806 Philadelphia)- Besides MORRIS, I have also came across direct lines to the the surnames CONNER, NESS, MAKINSON, BLANK, BROKAW, SAMPLE, OLDS, SERIGHT, and LILLIBRIDGE, amongst several others. Dr. Morris had a brother that was a soldier at the battle of Vicksburg, according to a letter passed down in the family. If anyone out there has any information on the parents of Dr. M. B. Morris, (Lemuel Morris & Martha Estes) please let me know, as I am stuck at the moment. Also, if you believe you may have a tie to me, please feel free to contact me at Shawn@ quillspirit.com.
